We had the same problem previously and it was down to not enough moisture and nutrients. We added plenty of compost around the plant bases and recovery slowly begun.

Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog!Sounds like an uncomfortable position to caught in the middle of Spreckly, it makes me glad we have no direct neighbour's. Today we pulled another load of rhubarb then set to weeding around the rhubarb, the garlic bed and both strawberry beds. The geese and ducks thoroughly enjoyed tucking into the ...
Re: GoatsMade our first "hard" goat cheese today, nice texture but very mild. We will play about and place half of it in brine tomorrow. We have also made a "soft" cheese tonight which has to sit until the morning before we finish of the making process. Our aim to make another cheese which will "age" once we...
Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog!Today, we cleared another bed and planted it up with onions, it took all afternoon but that is another task done. Tomorrow will be spent weeding, they seem to be growing extremely well this year........unfortunately.
Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog! The last aubergines we grew were "purple fingers" or "little fingers"? something along them lines and they had a lovely taste to them. Not sure what variety went in this year I have lost the packet, still all the more fun when/if they start to grow
Re: StorksEven better news, the female stork has returned and both storks are happily in their nest, flying over our garden several times a day as they repair/rebuild their nest. Fingers crossed for another successful hatching this year.
Re: GoatsGave all the goats their last injections today, the new additions are now out of quarantine and adjusting to their new surroundings and the other goats. Constant supervision at present to ensure there are no major issues when all together, especially with the young kids. Started trimming all the new...

Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog!So today I completed the new herb set up, we now have two long rows with a lot more space to start planting some extra herbs. Also, we sowed all the beetroot and aubergine seeds. Nice warm spell here at present that will hopefully stay with us for a while.
Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog! What is the law about wild plants. Thinking back we used to make collections of wild flowers (for a badge at GLB, which was like Guides), now illegal to pick them, never mind uproot. Can see why, though we learnt a lot from identifying the specimens To be honest I do not know. We have always seen t...
Re: Goats Will you be bottle feeding? No need to, they are already eating hay/lucerne/barley straw etc. along with grain and pellets, also they get their fill browsing when we walk them twice a day. We do not milk the Mum's dry so they still feed their kids during the day. It is still a learning curve for us...
Re: GoatsSeparated the kids from their Mum's tonight for the first time so we can get into the routine of milking in the morning and as the kids have not been feeding from their Mum's during the night we should get more milk. Needless to say there is a lot of noise and unhappy goats outside at present! Headp...
Re: Trev62-An intermittent gardening blog! So, the first rows of carrots are now in, tomato plants coming on nicely in their pots along with the garlic and peas shooting up nicely outside. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!I have mention Geo Engineering on here before and how it plays a part in affecting the weather pattern/systems. The link below (you will have to translate it via Google translate) highlights just one of the things happening in this region and Bulgaria is way behind what many Western Countries, China...
Re: Learning Guitar Most of the time my left hand just works the bellows. If i try to play buttons I lose the R hand keys. That I can associate with, I am still trying to master moving and using two hands at the same time. One up and down the guitar neck hoping to hit the right strings whilst the other fingerpicks at ...
