Re: Meet Donald and Daisey

Thank you Chookaholic. It certainly is not a "nice garden" in the nice neat sense. But it is a working garden with veg plot, greenhouse, poly tunnel, chicken home and pond for the duckies. It's my garden and I love it. As for entertaining, well so long as you don't mind stepping over the c...

Re: Meet Donald and Daisey

Yes we have fish, the ducks are calls and only small. They have eaten all the weed from the pond, which is what we wanted them to do.

Re: Eggs

Yes she has a drake, I'm not sure if she is broody or not. Are ducks like chickens, do they sit and refuse to be moved when they are broody, if so then she is not broody.

Eggs

I know this is the chicken section, but if had to let you all know that my little call duck is laying eggs hubby took up a decking board today and found her little stash of half a dozen. I don't really want her laying there, but if we stop her I'm not sure where she will go. At least we know where s...

Re: Davina's 2014 gardening diary

Yesterday was a beautiful day. It reached 83.6 degrees in the poly tunnel the radish are through and so are some of the lettuce, but no sign of the leeks as yet. The potatoes are starting to produce some shoots, so I will probably be planting the first earliest next weekend. We had a tidy around our...
