Re: Very ill looking hen

Meg think the first hen will be okay, you know I have had the same problem but I haven't done the massaging cause she just gets too stressed out. However, like your her comb droops over a bit and she must be the biggest (neck) swinger in town, she almost knocked Alice out in their coop in the night t...

All done very nicely, no dogs allowed within the area and any chickens that started to peck another were removed. It was lovely watching the different bre...

Re: Very ill looking hen

I had to give 03 baytril, can you get some more? I got my friend to look at her and she said if she is running about eating and drinking it shows she is putting up with it as an annoyance. I think she means she has a quality of life and can't be too ill or she would just sit and do nothing? Then of ...

Re: Very ill looking hen

Oh Meg, just come in from locking up the girls and Abby is doing her neck thing so violently she knocked Alice into the corner! Abby had sour crop and I had to take her to the vets as she had all the symptons you have described. She had to have an operation then 2 weeks on baytril and metacam. She g...

Re: Mash consistency ???

Mine have it dry, they adore it and wont touch pellets. Tried mashing it around with water and they ate it reluctantly as a last resort but soon as I put it down dry they went at it like starving marvins!

Born to be wild ad

The Happy hens advert is fantastic, do you think they tie the chicken on the back of the bike, glue her legs to the bar or maybe it's a trick of the camera? Sincerely hope it is option three! What a joy it is though. I would love to live with a field that big for the girls. )t'
