Re: how long can i keep Baytril ?

I bought from my vet a large bottle to dose all hens when 3 started sneezing..I still have a lot of it left and at £40 for the bottle I intend to hang on to it as long as it looks clear. I am keeping it in the fridge and will use it again if I need to. I tend to empty what I need into a container th...

Re: Chinese lanterns

[. I’m glad that you are considerate about your dog’s feeling regarding fireworks but dismayed that you show scant regard for those animals that you can’t see; out of sight out of mind. I hope that you enjoyed your festival and hope that you will look into the issue more deeply and see the damage t...

Re: Help with a Hen

most advise on here i have seen when a hen is being bullied suggests a slow intergration. Usually its best to introduce them in twos, as you haven't it might take a little longer to get the pecking order sorted. Keeping them separate but able to see each other and putting them all together at night ...

Re: Economy Gastronomy....I think not!!!!

liskeardjane....whilst I agree with what you say I feel that apathy with society is a major problem. I wouldn't necessarily feel guilty about shopping in places like Lidl. just conscious about where things have come from not to mention nutrients lost in transit. I agree whole heartedly about consumi...

Re: Confused regarding grit and oyster shell?

my girls have layers in the morning..afternoon they have a cup of corn scattered in the run with a half cup of grit and oyster mix too. I leave it on the ground so they peck away..I give them the grit on alternate days as I like to see that it's being consumed. I also give them back their baked shel...

14 views and no one got any ideas!!! oh dear..a trip to the vet I think..I honestly wonder if the expense is making this a viable option for me any more..so soon into keeping them..but it gets a bit depressing when the vet charges you way more than the poor chook is going to produce in eggs for you!...
