Re: Davina's 2013 chicken keeping diary

Isn't it great having a bit of sunshine on a day off work :-D , and being able to spend time outdoors. Naughty ginger ninjas ... {rofwl} , mine try to catch the long laces on my mud caked boots, they think they're very fat swingy worms {rofwl}

Re: Ellie's lovely ladies

Mine too have had a nice bit of dustbathing in the sun today , it's lovely to see their pure enjoyment rolling in the dry sandy dirt...about the only dry bit in the garden under some trees, love the way they sprint to be first through the gap and down into the sand Congratulations on Dorcas and Dais...

And a Happy New Year from us all to all you Laners and Chickens I started lurking around here earlier last year before I got my 4 ex-batts in the May & June 2012 rehomings. My first two , Elsie (behaves like a 'regular' hen - if there is such a thing) and Florrie (now renamed Miss Houdini ), wer...

Re: Wet Wet Wet!!

How horrible it is at the moment but not as bad as yours , I can't even begin what else to suggest, looks like you've tried everything. Think I would be tempted to build an new floor with pall...

Re: chickens and rain

Re: Broody silkie

Hi , my silkie cross has me worried at the moment. She went broody quite a few weeks ago -as in sat in the nest box all the time for a week or so until i managed to replace her with a football since then she doesn't go in the nest box but just finds a quiet corner to cuddle up in. She eats and drink...
