Post by Seaside »

We have just been given 6 baby pigeons from a roofer who disturbed 2 nests. Some 3 inches, Some 5 Inches long. Can anyone advise how to care for the poor things. Re Warmth & Feeding. Any websites etc etc

Eeek.
I wouldn't think they would need keeping warm in this weather. Just have them in a cosy nest/cage type.
I raised a clutch of blackbirds, whose parents were killed by a cat.
They were just getting their feathers.
I gave then whiskas cat food, chicken flavour. Any other type upset their tummies.
They were demand fed, so I was on the go all the time and getting up really early.

Don't know if that would be any good for pigeons. Don't know if they eat insects and the like

Good luck with the squabs, I've taken a couple which were brought into work before, have to say I didn't manage to save them, but they were just a few days old when I got them.
