:shock: Your chooks are nice and secure though Ock, aren't they?

That fox looks very relaxed - your garden is probably his equivalent of your local pub! I know they are predators (mind you, so are we) but they are very beautiful, aren't they?

it doesn't matter how beautiful they are they are vermin; after all squirrels are only rats with bushy tails (ah how cute) and good PR.

we have always had loads of them in our garden, that`s why we could never let our chooks free range, I`ve seen them looking in the run before but they`ve never had a go at getting in so far, I really don`t think they can get in, but you never know {cry}

it is a difficult one, and as we have heard via numerous threads on the subject you never can tell how safe your birds are.

I like to think of squirrels as tree partridges; and I prefer mine as a satay (thank you HFW for that culinary idea). Lean, free range and delicious with an oriental peanut dip. )c+ :b(

Are you serious? can you eat squirrel?

Grey ones are the ones I call vermin.I used to live by a place that had loads of red ones, so tame you could hold out your hand and feed them peanuts. Then one day i went there and the place was silent. Not a squirrel in sight. Apparently the greys have arrived - along with the squirrel pox - and wiped most of them out. There is apparently a handful about, but you never see them. Will take years, if not decades to get back to how it was - and all the time the greys are taking over {mr.angry}

I wouldn't eat a red squirrel but it is fine to eat the grey ones.
