well George and Penelope are getting on like a house on fire, truely in love!!!
Penelope joined George tuesday 13th Mar and i kept them both in the hutch until sunday 18th, then I felt guilty, having them trapped so I let them out. Penelope dissapeared for about 2 hours but came back and they havent left eachothers sides since.
On monday 19th I saw them billing, so cute, and wed 21 George started collecting twigs and taking them to her. By friday 23 I saw them spend all day preening eachothers heads.
Saturday 24 Penelope refuses to go for a fly and George is really agressive and is chasing me around the garden trying to peck me.
My question is, Penelope is not sitting in the bowl nest, she is perched on the edge, she doesnt appear to be in any pain or straining to get an egg out, so how long does it take to pass an egg, I have read it takes 48 hours for the egg to be produced, but how long should it take to come out?
shes not eating or drinking as much as usual, must say im starting to get worried for her.
Have I mentioned before they are in a rabbit hutch, last night George learned how to put the flap down on the bunny ramp, I though the catch was loose at first so I put it back up 3 times and tightened the screw, I went back 5 mins later just to check and it was back down again, clever George!
