aw look at the litte cute duckies. I would love ducks as ive got a lovely 6ft by 4ft pond but I dont think my neighbours would be impressed - ive got away with 8 chickens but I think ducks will be pushing it as ive heard ducks are far noisier than chickens. I did get 2 wild ducks stop for a swim last spring in my pond which was lovely as I get a lot of ducks and geese flying over as im within a 10 min walking distance to a lake. I also get visits from Herons but now ive got chickens Mr Heron has decided my chickens are too scary when after one visit he got chased by an over enthusastic ex batty who didnt know any better he hasnt been back since.

They are so cute and fabulous photograghs! You must be very proud!

I would love to keep ducks, but we would have to move. A neighbour two doors down has Indian runners and I love to hear them.

I just love indian runners, I think I have mentioned this before but last year we visited my sister in law in ulverston and we had a walk along a dissused cannal. we fed the ducks etc and one young runner decided we were his best freinds and followed us for over a mile. When I say follow I mean at our heals
Even other walkers were saying would you like to borrow my dog lead :-D
I think my daughter had a lot to do with it she is animal mad and animals just seem to love her.

muscovies arent at all noisy, just do a lot of head posturing and bathing, although no real pond is needed, a big tub does the job, they are generally always cleaning themselves, and we get around 5 eggs a week from two females , ive found a home for my big male , i got them all from a local dealer as ducklings at £ 15 each.

Haven't seen Bettie down the lane for some time, I know I won't be the only on who misses her, she was really lovely and enjoyed hearing about her chooks and ducks.
