I am really pleased with germination rates this year...I think it has paid off sowing seeds individually..very fiddly for the smaller seeds but took my mind off other things :-D

The tomatoes, peppers, chillies and cucumbers are all growing well.

the roots obviously knew which way they were supposed to go but the shoot had no chance, so I have very carefully turned it the right way )t'

So what I want to know Jannie is what you are doing that I'm not that your courgette seeds sprout so fast. }hairout{

I've sown squash seeds today so will see how quick they germinate. :-D I decided against starting our annual family pumpkin competition this year..everyone, including me, complained about them taking over the garden last year..but I've ordered a grape vine..I am so excited )c(

Yesterday... I potted on the cucumbers as the roots were starting to show at the bottom of the 3'' pots..also potted on a couple of tomatoes and left them in the greenhouse over night..just so see if they will be ok with the lower heat at night..last time I put them out there was a frost and I'd forgotten to get them in till late evening and they got chilled..last night I covered them with fleece and put the heater on low..when the weather forcast says that we may get a ground frost..we always do }hairout{
The greenhouse is filling up now :-D

Onions, garlic, beetroot, salad leaves, spring onions and broad beans are all doing well in my little polytunnel.

I also sowed a pot of carrots, a second sowing of beetroot..and some dwarf french beans under the cloche in my AF patch..

The peas have germinated well this year as I covered them so the mice couldn't get to them.

I ordered a ' Dornfelder ' Grapevine this week and Hubby commented that surely I am growing enough already :?
I think as long as there is somewhere to grow then I will plant )grin2( . The grapevine will grow over a pergola that we've built where my car is parked..it will serve 2 purposes..it will shade my car but will also provide beautiful grapes that are both edible and good for wine :-D :-D .. He got me thinking so I've made a list of everything I am growing at the moment..

5 Apple trees …3 eating and 2 cooking
2 Cherry trees, 1 eating, 1 morello
Pear tree
Blackcurrants

Cos lettuce
Mixed salad leaves

Cauliflowers
Cabbage
