Mice eating all my seeds !
Mice eating all my seeds !All the Broad Bean seeds eaten, you can see the little holes around everyone.
Lost loads in the Greenhouse as well. Same tell tale signs. I've never had this before. Way too many to cull I would guess plus I have to watch the cats. I am devising a kind of shelving system to prevent them climbing up little blighters. Every year something different but guess that's what growing Vegetables is about! I hear they don't like Peppermint Oil smell. Does anyone know of any other deterrent? I'm hoping for a few hungry Owls to turn up. Richard New Member? Re: Mice eating all my seeds !For peas they used to say to dip them in parafin just before planting to save them from mice.
I assume it would work for similar seeds. Dom Ali Woks My World

Re: Mice eating all my seeds !i've always put holly leaves in the trenches.
But you can get one row fail completely and the next grow.
Just hope something grows. It does make you feel closer to your ancestors than popping down to Tesco's for everything (though when the crops fail we have that option, they didn't) Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: Mice eating all my seeds !I agree Mo.
I think I found a 'sort of answer' today. I have two raised beds, one with bog standard Onions in and the other with Red Onions in. The Mice had all the red one's but didn't go near the norms. So I've sowed my Beetroot in and put more Standard Onions between the rows. Hoping both, especially the Beetroot flourish. Richard New Member?
