CardoonsCardoonsHello, has anyone grown cardoons and what are they like to eat. We have four cardoon plants coming up on our allotment and I wondered what they taste like and how to cook them. Has anyone got any vegetarian friendly recipes. Thanks.
Re: CardoonsDid you plant them or did they 'come up' by themselves? Or is it a new plot?
No idea what they are like (or even what they are) I'm a trad veg fan. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: CardoonsHi
I had to google them ! Looks like they're similar to Artichokes, pretty central Med, so you would probably have to copy their climate a bit. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/3347175/Cardoons-How-to-grow.html Sounds like a challenge.
