Baaaa Bok Bok Bok, Thank you for saying that :-D
Mrs Al was at the allotment helping to put it together and on more than one occasion she accused me of being a lunatic :shock:
I did tell her there was a very fine line between lunacy and
genius )t'
I think the idea is great. I know this one is on a large scale but there must be loads of gazebo frames in garages and garden sheds up and down the country just waiting for a new lease of life as fruit cages :-D

Good idea Al, but I've got the covers, the pop up frames buckled and bent, and I binned them. Your's looks like a heavy duty frame, I have one of those, half the size of yours, but I haven't got enough fruit bushes to put in it.

I got all my current bushes for £2 at Wilk in sun. i have brought a few a year so that I always have 3 that are fruiting at their prime.

I have been really pleased with them ... obviously you will have to wait for them to grow! but LOADS of fruit at a real BARGAIN!

Great idea but one burning question....How will the buzzy bees get in to pollinate the trees? :shock:

I suppose the netting doesn't need to be put over the frame until the fruits are set - or use a netting which has wide enough gaps to let the bees through but not the birds (which is the general idea of a fruit cage) )t'

The white pannels at the back unzip and the netting at one end can be folded back )t'

That is indeed a brilliant bit of recycling, well done. Unfortunatly I threw away my old frame last year which would have been a perfect size for all my friut trees and plants and would have kept the chooks out too. It's worth looking out for an old gazebo on ebay or car boot sale. Good luck with filling your massive cage, perhaps this year you could rent out some space to other gardeners at your allotment.

Renting out space is a good idea but I doubt I would have many takers :-D
Although I have decided my beans and peas are going in there this year, as well as ten raspberry canes, three gooseberry bushes, twe black current bushes, loads of strawberries and maybe some outside tomatoes and cucumbers.
I have been slogging on digging and weeding it and have managed about a quater of it :shock:
Now I have diggers back, shoulder, elbow, wrist and leg, :-D )j; )j;
