At last - RAIN!At last - RAIN!Since planting my veggies out we have had no rain - must be 3 or 4 weeks now
Yesterday I had an inkling that we were due for a downpour so made sure to get the runner beans and peas in and this morning woke up to rain hopefully this will give all the veggies a boost, much better than tap water
Re: At last - RAIN!Actually, it was probably only 10 days ago Kate LOL I should know, I took the rest of the week after Easter off and was digging my new beds on the allotment in the rain. Came back to work and sod's law, the sun came out and we had a touch of summer!
Re: At last - RAIN!yep lots of rain here too i like it for the garden but hate it for the chicken pen its going to be sooo muddy,we really need a good roof the tarp has even more holes now. jo x mum of 5,nanny to 2,2 cats,1 jack russell,6 chickens and a hubby.
Re: At last - RAIN!Even though there's been little rain if you dig down a few inches the ground is still moist so I'm only watering new seedlings and the greenhouse.

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: At last - RAIN!Heavy rain means I don't have to water the outside plants at my job in the garden centre. It is quite nice occasionally as then I get to do other things too.

Did it??? I must be getting old and forgetful But the ground is so dry it is starting to crack in places so I am really pleased to have the rain today - not so the dog, he keeps poking his nose out the back door then coming back in again Not sure what it is with him - he loves being in the river and swimming but get the hose-pipe out or ask him to go out in the rain - no way matey

A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion!
Re: At last - RAIN!Hasn’t rain here in Gainsborough for the last 4 weeks and I was down to just a drop of water in my last water butt. As for raining, one day I have stood outside my house (No2) while my friend at (No12) was being rained upon.
Re: At last - RAIN!Have you tried a rain dance
Re: At last - RAIN!You have to make sure that the timing is right when you do a rain dance.
Re: At last - RAIN!
Yes look at the sky and if it is grey with dark clouds in it the rain dance is most likely to be effective Don't even think about it if the sky is blue with little fluffy white clouds
Re: At last - RAIN!I usually find thoroughly watering and drenching the garden, followed by washing the car is a sure guarantee of rain to follow
Re: At last - RAIN!Funny you should mention that - every time my son washes hubby's car it always rains too
