Curries.Re: Curries.Ha ha ha Orfy - if I posted a pic of mine now, you could tell I have never used it as it looks too neat and tidy!

Oooh, makes my mouth water just typing that.
This is the website I use for inspiration - http://indian-recipe.org/curryforum/index.php - it's a world of curries, complete with recipes for replicating those restaurant curries. I find that curries are the answer to using up all those vegetables that have sprung up and when it seems heartless to just pull them up and put them on the compost heap. Always fancied having a curry party - where everyone brings one dish, and the host(ess) provides the rice and ambience. Re: Curries.I'll wait for my invite.

Re: Curries. That tan coloured nectar looks inviting as well.
Re: Curries.Yesterday I took the plunge and made my chick pea & veg curry - I used cumin & coriander seeds, fenugreek and cardamon pods, dry fried them then squashed in the pestle & mortar. Then added some gound coriander and some yellow stuff .
I was so convinced it would taste awful that I added a couple of spoons of madras curry powder too! It was delicious and I have 6 more portions in the freezer for later! Helen xx

Dean. I may have to grow older, but it doesn't mean I have to grow up!
Re: Curries.I don't have curry very often but I put turmeric on most of my meals. It comes from the root of the curcuma longa plant and is bright yellow. It has a lot of medicinal uses, and a lot of health benefits. Read about it here, it's very interesting. This very moment I am eating onions covered in turmeric.
The Worlds Healthiest Foods Ilona Re: Curries. That was very interesting Ilona. Didn't realise a spice could be so good for you.
I did have slips of paper telling me what the spices were but that one had vanished! It was rather like being an artist with a pallette, me and my masal dahbba!!! I still have a couple of unused sections - must decide what to put in! Helen xx
