225ml warm water 2oz soft butter 7g dried yeast packet 14 oz white bread flour 1 tsp salt 3 oz caster sugar 4oz sultanas 11/2 tsp cinnamon (thats 1 and a half) Put in your breadmaker mine is the no 1 setting which I use for a normal loaf. And Enjoy Lyn & Mick
Re: Fruit Loaf for the BreadmakerThat sounds brilliant will try it and no calories
Re: Fruit Loaf for the BreadmakerLooks lovely, but foriegn measurements confuse me already.
Even worse is mixing them with imperial. What's right with this country is the freedom to discuss what's wrong with it.
Re: Fruit Loaf for the BreadmakerThis sounds great. i haven't used my bread maker for quite a while but i will have to pull it out and try this,

Re: Fruit Loaf for the Breadmaker
I made this today, here's what I did and it turned out just great! 225ml warm water 60g Stork (melted) 400g strong white bread flour 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon or ground mixed spice 100g caster sugar 1 tsp salt 7g (1 sachet) fast action yeast 115g sultanas or mixed fruit Add all ingredients to the bread maker in the order as above but don't add the fruit. Set the breadmaker to basic (1), 750g (2, medium) and crust colour as desired. Wait 15-20 minutes 'til the machine bleeps several times then add the fruit. Re: Fruit Loaf for the Breadmaker
Sounds good. It is a bit like the Christmas bread I make - see my threads in this section but simpler and quicker. We don't have a bread maker but I am pretty sure that I could make this manually and bake in a 2lb loaf tin. I'll give it a try next weekend and let you know how it turns out. Michael
Re: Fruit Loaf for the Breadmaker
Ingredients look like they would be for a small loaf. If you've lost the manual for your machine, so long as you know make and probably model number you could probably find the manual with a Google search :)
Re: Fruit Loaf for the Breadmaker400g flour is what I normally use for a loaf so I'm thinking that might be about right. My bread machine is on about 3 times a week so let's see if I can use it more. I also make something that tastes like cinnamon and raisin bagels but I seem to have misplaced the recipe.
Bea; 19 hens (most of whom I intended to get); 6 bantams (which I never intended to have); old Benji dog and young Toby dog (who I definitely wanted). Three years into country living and loving it.
Re: Fruit Loaf for the BreadmakerMade this bread by hand today. As I suspected, it makes enough dough to fill a 2 lb loaf tin.
I baked in with an ordinary white loaf I was making, and as usual, I started with the oven as hot as it would go. The result was it caught on the top but was only just baked in the centre. If I was doing it again I might bake it separately; at a slightly lower temperature but for longer. Nevertheless, tastes really nice. Michael
Re: Fruit Loaf for the BreadmakerThat's the advantage of a gas oven. you can put things on different shelves.
I don't think I could get used to an electric now. When I tried cooking scones at my mother-in-laws I found that turning the oven off when they were nearly done, which would have finished them nicely in my oven overcooked them in her electric.
