Rose hips

Post by James »

Hi there,

Does someone have any good rceipes for using rose hips? We have many in the garden. I have been looking for something like jam or jelly.

Also do you know a good way of getting the pips out that is not too time consuming?

Thanks
James

I have made rose hip wine and it was very nice. It actually started off as rosehip syrup which is basically the hips and sugar, but I can't remember when I sieved and strained it (boil the hips first perhaps?) After I'd bottled it, I decided I didn't like the taste but rather than bin it, I just diluted it down and added the yeast and probably a handful of raisins for good measure.

Very nice )w(
