Hlemans Mayo

Post by saint-spoon »

Last night they were advertising that their Mayonnaise only had free range whole eggs in it, is it truly free range or merely a ploy to cover up other ingredients such as non-free range egg powder and stuff?

I bought some on Saturday.
I don't think they can say it is one thing and then use another, advertising standards and all that.
So many people have absolutely badgered this company for such a long time. I don't, somehow, think they would do that anyway. There maybe a lynching of the MD.

Yep - Mr Hellmans appeared on a Jamie Oliver programme about chickens and he promised that they were going to start producing mayo using free range eggs from Feb 2008.
Well done Mr. Hellmans for leading the way!!

Yes he did appear on Jamie's programme - he really did lead the way. (f+
And no, they couldn't advertise it as free range if it wasn't, whether it be powder, liquid, or actual egg

I noticed today that even Ronaldo MacDonalodo has started advertising that they are only using free range eggs, with two big names like that you would have thought that PESCO and SOM would have got the hint. )t'

Something makes me think McD's have been using them for some time.
I think the court case made them wake up and smell the coffee. Even though they won.

You're right Wendy, McD's have only used free range for quite some time.

Thing is that with the new awareness, one and all are going to use it as sales gimmick.

But I think we can hack that one !!
