During a recent jaunt down to Cornwall we took a day on the lovely beach at Perranporth. At the top of the beach is a bar (the name of which I have neglected to remember) which boasted that only free range chicken and eggs would be used in their kitchen. Well done to the currently anonymous purveyor of free range wares. To top that they even had an ethical claim on their fish and chips; they use Pollock and not cod to try and help protect what little stocks are left. I had the mussels in white wine and leek sauce which was most delightful in case you were wondering.
