Re: how to serve fishcakes? Thanks for the suggestions - I like a good northern salad but wasn't sure if that would be too much potato.
They'd probably have salmon and smoked haddock - maybe a bit of mackerel if it's not too freezer burnt.
Re: how to serve fishcakes?I make salmon fishcakes and serve them with peas and new potatoes and a dressing made with cucumber yoghurt and mayonnaise.
Re: how to serve fishcakes? This time of year: fried old potatoes, pickled beetroot and leeks.

Re: how to serve fishcakes?I hadn't thought along those lines - pickled veg would be a really nice contrast to the fish. Thanks for that suggestion.
Re: how to serve fishcakes? For me it's all about sauces.....Watercress Mayo if it was just Salmon , Cucumber and dill sauce made up with creme fraiche or horseradish sauce......Tartare Sauce if mixed...
Watercress salad, some kind of slaw...something crunchy / veggie. Beetroot cooked in balsamic vinegar - reduced so it make s a glaze on the beets....they are really yummy. If you want something hot could be stir fry, or roasted veggies but with a bit of crunch like yams in them. Sweet potato fried for something a bit different to chips....I love Kumara (which is what they are over here) fries....or something like parmesan cream noodles. Freeranger I think I'm going to have to make fishcakes now ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)✰
