So sorry Tammy {cry} what a wonderful age for a dog to be, he must have had a lovely life with you and I'm sure he'll be sadly missed.
RIP wee Hamish {hug}

I am so sorry to read your bad news. May Hamish RIP and have a fun time at Rainbow Bridge. 17.5 yrs is a very good age, well done for obviously being a very good/caring owner. {hug}

So sorry to hear your sad news. Hamish must have had a lovely home and loving owners and was obviously loved and well cared for to have such a long life.
I know how it feels as our old ginger tom made it to 6 weeks short of 18. It leaves a big hole in your heart.
17 and a half years is a very long time.
Run free Hamish over the Rainbow Bridge, little love. Xxxxx

Thank you all for your kind words. It was horrible coming downstairs this morning and no Hamish.

My children are doing better than I expected, to lose one family pet is bad enough but two so close together is just awful. In fact we lost a chicken in may, a cat in june and a dog in july!

Am so sorry to hear this about Hamish...know exactly what you are going through at this time as we suddenly lost our little cocker Tessa exactly a week ago today ...she collapsed and died suddenly while out for a walk with hubby.....lovely for her but a complete and awful shock to us...we didn't have to make any decision. {hug&kiss} x
