We used to keep bricardis (don't anymore because of the discus) and they breed on an almost hourly basis if I remeber correctly. It's never nice when the fry get eaten but you end up with a tank full of fighting adults if they don't. better luck with the next batch of fry xx

It’s always the other fish… Bricardis are actually really good parents and if you keep them in a tank of their own you will get almost 100% survival. This was the problem I had with a growing population of fish and not enough tank space. At one point I had three different pairs breeding in the same tank and no way of selling the fish on as it tends to be a very insular business fish breeding. In the end I added some fish that were likely to eat the eggs and hence solved the over population problem (once some fish had died off). We actually had some baby discus but the other fish ate them before we could transfer them, pity really.
