Home needed for Red-Eared Terrapins (Bedfordshire)

Post by Jo »

Hi,

Due to a marriage seperation two large Red Eared Terrapins are looking for a new home.

One is male the other female, they are approx 10 years old and in good condition.

The live in a tank (approx 4ft x 4ft) with a raised lit area for basking, filteration systems etc.

They are fed on a diet of mussels, white bait and other fresh food.

These guys are being offered FREE with equipment, to a suitable loving home.

Please email for further info.

Hi Jo -

Sorry to hear about this. Can I suggest that if you do not get any immediate offer of a new home for these fellas to contact your local vets to see if they know of anyone. They may even put a poster up in reception for you (er, of course, if that is what you would be OK with). We get the occasional person in at work who specialises in keeping a particular type of pet.

Good luck anyway! )t'

Oh Dear Jo.
So sorry to hear you news.
They aren't easy to re home I am sure. As Bluebell says get onto the vet. I am sure there will be a society that will help you out and the vet may know of one. I know there is one for tortoises so there must be for terrapins. Have you looked on the internet to see if there is any.
Good luck with your quest, they are dear little things.

Hi Jo
Sorry to hear your news.

I have a friend who is in to reptiles big time. She has suggested that you contact:
http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/site/Welcome.html
and
http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/

She said both these sites have a rehoming section.
Hope this helps and you find a new home for them soon.
