the rabbits are digging!!

Post by boosmummy »

they are trying to dig out of their run!!

i think they might be bored to be honest. they dont have anything to do but run around but how do you entertain a rabbit??

in terms of the digging im going to get some mesh, rake off the top 2-3 inches of soil put the mesh down then put the soil and woodshavings on top. its the only thing i can think of doing.

Hi BM, we have mesh dug down under our run (which was our first chicken coop) and paving stones around the outside but yes, they do like to dig. }hairout{ We've never had any problems with them actually managing to dig their way out of their run, it's usually when they're free ranging in the garden that they do the worst digging so not sure it's always a boredom thing.
My boys love apple tree branches if you have any and we usually toss some dandelion leaves, cardboard from loo rolls, etc for them to chew on a couple of times a day.
How much space do they have?

they have about 12ft by 3.5ft (approx) so they have plenty of room.

Sorry, Boosmummy but had to {rofwl} Give them some plant pots to throw around, ours used to love that. Dont think its because they are bored, its just what rabbits do.
