Seasonal Canine IllnessSeasonal Canine IllnessHas anyone heard of this?
Someone on another forum I go on has mentioned it, having had a friends two dogs die within 48 hours of being walked in woodland. Hope this link works:- www.aht.org.uk/sci Re: Seasonal Canine IllnessI have only read about it in the last month or so.
Seems very strange to be 'seasonal' and I have never heard of it before. As it seems to be in certain regions, there is probably some kind of virus, I would think Hopefully they will get to the bottom of it soon. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Seasonal Canine IllnessNothing to do with tic bites is it?

Albert Einstein Re: Seasonal Canine IllnessNot as far as I am aware, Willow. They are talking apart from Harvest Mites of blue algae and spores of some sort.
Seasonal Canine IllnessWe've had a case of SCI referred from another vets, this week.
If you google Seasonal Canine Illness and go to the Veterinary Poisons Information Services it will give you a rough outline of SCI. Vets are recommending that dogs are kept up to date on their flea treatment (lots of flea treatments - frontline combo and advocate (we use) kill mites). It seems they aren't sure of what is causing SCI because it has only been around since about 2009. All dogs had been walked in woodlands so I think that is why they are thinking it is a mite / parasite problem. http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sorry for worrying you. Just looked on the link and they are recommending that you use Fiprinol spray that can be got from a vet. Sorrreeee.
Re: Seasonal Canine IllnessGwen, great that you are telling folk about this - the more people that know the better for everyone. May very well make the difference to someone's pet
