Hi Jodi.
I think you are right. Sometimes we have unattainable goals for ourselves.
I am small 5' 2" and have a small frame. But even so I will not weigh what I did when I was 18 and as much as I would like to, I have to take that on board.
I now go by my BMI and keep that within the range I should be.
So I don't try to aim to be 7stone and settle for 9 stone. 3lbs. So if you have a large frame you will struggle to get right down, just got heavy bones, and not over worry about the odd 3/5lb here and there.
Going up and down with your weight is not healthy, aim for a size 14 and you can't go wrong LOL

I have lots 4.5lb in the last 3 weeks doing slimming world again. No deprivation, and stuff my face with lots!! I'll share a couple of their "syn free" recipes I've been eating.

Sage and Mushroom pies
6 spring onions
4 garlic cloves
397g mushrooms
113g potato (doesn't matter if you do more on slimming world)
handful of sage
Frylight
4 eggs
2 tbs pink peppercorns
salt and pepper

1) Oven at 220c / Slice the onion, garlic, sage, mushrooms / grate the potato
2) Fry (using fry light) the onion, garlic, mushroom for 4 mins and then put into 4 dishes (or one big one)
3)Beat the eggs, stir in the sage and peppercorns and pour over the mushroom mixture / top with the grated potato, spray with frighlight and bake for 20 mins or until golden

Spinach Cannelloni
Cannelloni tubes (or lasagne sheets softened, then rolled up after you have put filling in)
227g spinac
1 egg
4 garlic cloves
170g reduced fat chedder
handful of basil 2 250g pots of quark
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
salt and pepper
500g carton of passata

1) oven at 200c / blanch spinach for 2 mins, drain and chop
2) Beat the egg / peel and crush the garlic, grate the cheese, chop basil
2) put quark in bowl and beat until smooth / add spinach, eg, garlic, nutmeg, basil / season and mix
3)put the spinach mixture into cannelloni tubes
3) one layer of passata on dish, add tubes in one single layer, add passata to the top, sprinkle with cheese and make for 20 mins

Macaroni Cheese
340g of macaroni or penne
6 spring onions
2 garlic cloves
264g of cherry tomatoes
frylight
170g chedder
2 eggs
500g low fat yoghurt
1tsp dijon mustard
salt and pepper

1)Oven 220c / chop everything / cook the pasta
2) Fry spring onions, garlic, tomms for 3mins. Add 100ml water and fook for 4mins or until water absorbed
3) stir in the pasta, and transfer to a large dish for oven
Grate the cheese, beat the eggs, mix in the yoghurt and mustard.
Pour over the pasta and cook for 20 mins

All of these are for 4 people, and as I'm the only one who eats them, I managed to make 15 meals from all of these - so most are in the freezer!!
If there is anyone doing slimming world, then they're all syn free, and the cheese is your healthy extra

Out of all of them, I still prefer the cannelloni!!

I also have another recipe...........

It's a chickpea dip or pate........

1 tin of chick peas
1 tub of quark
salt/pepper
coriander, cumin and garlic to taste (I use 2 cloves)

Wizz them all up in the food processor, and it makes a lovely dip, or topping for crackers mmm

BUT!!!! I don't know about anyone else, but chickpeas and farts!!?

I love chickpea dip - I get tins of chickpea puree from a middle eastern grocer and add garlic, sesame paste, lemon juice and a dribble of olive oil, delicious. Love it with salad.

I like the idea of spicing it up a bit, but what is quark???

(Probably another of those things that we've got in Aus. but called by a different name)

cheers

quark is a very low fat soft cheese. They sell it in tubs in all of the major supermarkets in the UK. You could try low fat natural yoghurt instead for the recipe

Thanks for the link - I had a look and the closest thing I can match it to is a low fat soft cream cheese that is marketed under a brand name "Philladelphia" (c) cheese. It's description is the same as written in the link and we use it for dips, as a spread, in cheesecakes etc. Makes sense - it would be nice used in the recipe you put in.

And Wendy - can we please have your tomatoe and chickpea stew recipe?

cheers

must lose weight

Post by AnnaB »

Jodi
I go along with Wendy about the substitute meals. It is training the stomach and brain to eat wisely.

I am 5'7" tall and used to weigh under 9st size 10-12. It wasn't until I saw myself on video that changed me (bones sticking out all over the place). I ate for England and got to 10 1/2st. This is where I stay, I have some meat on me now size 14-16 and am happy with that.
If you have a large frame the bones will weigh heavy and it may appear that you are overweight.
They used to put forward if you can pinch an inch of fat around your middle then that's overweight....if we didn't have this when we stretched there would be nothing to help the action!

Oooh AnnaB envy}}
I wish I could put on weight - no matter what I eat I'm a stick!!!!

And wendy yes that was the plan, but my OH is refusing to be weighed for his update! I suspect he may not be sticking to the low calorie eating plan! )de:
