I really mean it this time!

Post by Effie »

I have managed to pile on weight over the last 18 months (new job to blame) mostly cos I have been working hard and have convinced myself I deserve lots of treats

The diet started for sure yesterday.

I am not happy.... in fact, I'm very grumpy.

Just wanted to have a grumble, off to not have anything yummy for supper {warn}

When you can have yummy suppers you don't always have anything as soon as the word diet yike* is mentioned, you cannot stop thinking of food, and when will the next portion be coming? have a good grumble we have all been there! Good luck )t'

We are all on a diet. It is just that some are better diets than others.
If you eat healthy and don't snack. You can have yummy dinners
It is just about input and output. If you eat more than you use , you come unstuck.
Join the club, we are all in the same boat Effie.
You will do it.

Very proud of myself! No snacks all week and no wine tonight - yes I know it's early but I am resolute!

There were birthday cream cakes at work today, didn't really even want one.

I am starting to feel pleased about being good, rather than feeling I deserve food rewards for what I had done. Lets hope the weigh in on Sunday shows it was worth it.

Good luck with the weigh in - sounds like you have your head in order!

I am not doing too well right now, cannot avoid the wine, and have but on 1/2 stone since Christmas {cry} just cannot get my head back into it although I am not snacking like I used to

I've just found a wonderful way to lose weight - be an in-patient in hospital!
The food was so awful that I couldn't eat very much. I've lost 17lb since before my operation.

I was in hospital for two weeks in my teens, lost half a stone, grew 3 inches! Could be a cunning plan you have there!

As it happens, I didn't eat what I had ordered as my head injury meant I couldn't read anymore so I kept ordering fish which I don't like confused>

Hmmm not sure about this one, I am actually going in for a small op on Monday, but unless there is a problem I should be home same day - and that means OH looking after me. Last time he did that he said he would make me pancakes - except they looked like Yorkshire puds, no lemon juice either so not terribly appetising, and for my main course he served up garlic bread yike*

I have stocked the fridge with healthy food that doesn't take much cooking so hopefully this time should be better :-D

It just isn't the right time, Kate. You'll get there, as long as you don't put it off forever, that is!

I really think giving up alcohol has made a huge difference to my will power. I think it might be the booze which was the driving force behind evening snacking. When I knew I hadn't snacked in the evening, it was easier to keep the momentum going and resist in the day too.

Although I've stayed off wine, I have had a few wobbles this weekend; bought a cupcake yeaterday which I had with lunch and had a florentine with my coffee at the garden centre this afternoon )sh

Still, the results of the weigh in........

I've lost 3 lb )c( and just had a good 30 minutes on the Wii fit + playing some new games. I actually managed 6 minutes of hula hooping too. Only 18 lb to go :?

I think having to 'fess up to you guys will help keep me on track too. Thanks for all your advice and support )t'

Effie WELL DONE )t' )t'

I have always struggled with my weight and have lost two stones over the last year, its hard work but well worth it, if you aim for a 1lb or 2lb a week thats sensible, well done losing 3lb will give you a boost (not the chocolate one sorry) :-D
