Got the MRI results and I've a tear in the meniscus (cartilage) on the outside of my knee and a cyst due to the tear. Now I've got to wait for the operation, the registrar said the list was'nt very long at the moment, so I'm guessing 6 weeks max. Will be glad to get it sorted after nearly 2 years.

I've my operation pre assessment tomorrow, so not long now until I get my knee sorted. My GP signed me off work 2 weeks ago because of the pain/swelling in my knee and my employers were taking no notice of the Occupational Health recommendations for me. Got a feeling I won't be back out on Delivery until after Christmas(not all bad then :-D )

I'm getting so bored sat at home. I can't go very far in the car because of the pain. On the plus side the girls are very happy as they can spend a lot more time scratching around in the garden.

I was thinking of taking up a hobby, anybody tried Quilling?

Thanks Dom.
Quilling is strips of paper rolled up and glued. In Victorian times they used to decorate cabinets etc. I need to find myself a hobby while I'm off from work, any ideas?

Just a quick update. The hospital phoned yesterday and I'm to go in for day surgery on 5th November )c(
So finally 22 months of having this injury its going to be fixed >fi<
I'm a bit nervous about it but I can't carry on hobbling around like I have been for nearly 2 years. I'm sure the Dr's know what they are doing :-D

Glad it's finally going to be sorted )c(
I've been reading this thread with interest as I have torn the patella ligament in my knee and am currently receiving physio with a probable op in the future if it doesn't heal 100%. The thought of surgery absolutely terrifies me - not the surgery itself, but a fear of the anaesthetic (I'm such a control freak that I hate the thought of someone doing something to me while I'm asleep).
I'm doing all the exercises and have bought a TENS machine (which is fab) and I think it DOES feel a little better. I'm just not sure how much it's actually healed or if I'm just getting used to the pain. It's amazing how quickly the body adapts to pain and how it learns to compensate by doing things in a slightly unnatural way.

Keep us posted and >gl<

I'm getting a bit nervous now. This time tomorrow I'll be on my way to the hospital. yike*
I've managed to get most of the jobs I wanted to do around the house done ie clean the kitchen cupboards out etc. Tomorrow morning about 4.30 I'm off to the supermarket to get the supplies in because I won't beable to drive for about 2/3 weeks and don't really want to have to send the kids to the supermarket because it'll cost me )gr:
Hopefully I'll be back from the hospital by tomorrow evening with a mended knee )c(
