Positive about sorting my weight this time...Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...Its so easy to not eat the right things especially when you're having a rubbish week, its equally as easy to feel guilty about it. Its totally rubbish!! I've had a good week this week after about 8 bad ones! Bad weeks include white bread, chip butties, chocolate snacks. Good weeks include brown bread, bleurgh!! Eating three meals a day and limiting my mince pie intake 1 or 2 a day hahahaha

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...I have been lurking a bit, reading your words of wisdom in the vain hope that I might get my head into gear and into the right frame of mind to actually lose some weight!
My friend did not come last week so the moral support of someone on SW didn't happen. Ut as hubby was away I did not eat nearly as much 'naughtiness'. I had a feeling I might lose a bit so was very surprised when I jumped onto the scales this evening to find that 3lb have gone! Maybe just being more sensible will bring the desired results whilst not following a strict regime that makes me feel like want to rebel against it! I think that is basically what most of you have already figured out but it has taken me a while to see the light! Glad you are all doing well - it's great to read about your successes and how we all have different ways of getting to the same place. You are all amazing, thanks for sharing your stories - they really do help No girls at the moment but look forward to getting more in the future. Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...Excellent news, Jemberelli! well done you.
I think we've all agreed that it just (just?) takes getting your head into the right gear to finally make the change. Maybe you're there now. Anyway, don't lurk - join in, even if it's all your 'not quite there yet' thoughts, and we'll talk at you until you change your mind! I've been naughty for a couple of days and am amazed to find I've lost a bit more, so it seems to be a bit of delayed reaction weight loss! I've now lost 6.5lb, so just over 10% of my target. Boosmummy! 256 calories?!!!! Good grief. I remember once having an illness that meant that for a while I couldn't take coffee, red wine or chocolate. I thought life wasn't worth living Once I got used to feeling great, I didn't miss them as much as I'd expected. It was more the thought of them. Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...I agree Freeranger, it is surprising how well be cope without things we previously thought we could never give up, when we absolutely have to.

That's brilliant - well done!!! Funny how following a diet doesn't seem to work particularly well for mind or body, but just cutting back a bit, not being greedy etc can have much more positive mental and physical results. (Funny how it takes us all so long for the penny to drop!). Really pleased for you Jemberelli Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...
I agree - I think it's the idea of things sometimes which is what's appealing. I don't know where I heard it or read it, but someone said that the best glass of wine is the one before your first one. Having given up alcohol for many weeks now, I've had a couple of glasses recently which I really haven't enjoyed that much. Well done on reaching 6.5lbs - brilliant achievement!
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...I just read your comment to OH, Scrambled, and he told me there was a philosopher (sorry, can't remember who he said) that said, though more eloquently I expect, the most pleasurable part of anything is the very first experience of it. The first taste of a food, the first sip of wine, the first look at a view...after that, the pleasure drops off. So maybe we should all have a couple of bits of dinner and then pass the plate on!
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...Well done all & thanks for the encouragement
