Antibiotics

Post by p.penn »

I am on antibiotics for an abcess in my gum, and am feeling somewhat rubbish - almost like I am drugged and wobbly at times. I am not sure if it is the infection or the a/bs themselves.

Does anyone else have a weird reaction to antibiotics?

I once had ABs that upset my stomach. The next time the Dr wanted to give me ABs I asked him which one and he said the same name. I suggested I just threw them straight down the toilet, to save time.

They often upset my stomach too {cry}

But the most dramatic reaction I ever had after a course of antibiotics was..... my son! (I forgot that antibiotics can have a negative affect on the pill)

Not pregnant are you Helen? )run(

yike* I hope not! {rofwl}

The ones I have been given are gastro-coated or something, to protect the tummy. I just feel quite wobbly. }hairout{

Still, managed to walk the dog and shall just take it easy for the rest of the day. It is day 3 of the course, so as it's only a 7 day course I shall try to stick with it.

Try to eat some live bio yogurt to replenish the natural good bacteria inside as these willl also have been killed.
If you have a rash / severe runs or a temperature you should get a medical second opinion.

That's what I have been given Tina. I think, as it is now coated with a gastric protection thingy, that tummy problems may have been common in the past.

I did ask if I could drink and they said yes, but to be honest, not really feeling like drinking much anyway!

You dont sound too good at all Helen, are you running a temperature? maybe you should give the med centre a ring just to be sure its still 'only' the abcess..
