AntibioticsAntibioticsI am on antibiotics for an abcess in my gum, and am feeling somewhat rubbish - almost like I am drugged and wobbly at times. I am not sure if it is the infection or the a/bs themselves.
Does anyone else have a weird reaction to antibiotics? Helen xx

If you always do what you always do ,you will always get what you have always got!
Re: AntibioticsI once had ABs that upset my stomach. The next time the Dr wanted to give me ABs I asked him which one and he said the same name. I suggested I just threw them straight down the toilet, to save time.

Re: AntibioticsThey often upset my stomach too
But the most dramatic reaction I ever had after a course of antibiotics was..... my son! (I forgot that antibiotics can have a negative affect on the pill) Not pregnant are you Helen? Lucy x

The ones I have been given are gastro-coated or something, to protect the tummy. I just feel quite wobbly. Still, managed to walk the dog and shall just take it easy for the rest of the day. It is day 3 of the course, so as it's only a 7 day course I shall try to stick with it. Helen xx

If you have a rash / severe runs or a temperature you should get a medical second opinion. Quand je serai vieille je vais vivre en France

Re: Antibioticshug to Helen
volterol has a adverse effect on me, apart from the rapid digestive transit it promotes in me it causes my ears, eyes and nose t stream continuously. I don't take them anymore. Bah Humbug
Re: AntibioticsAfaik, 3 things can happen with ABs if you drink, not saying that you do though!!
They don't work Make you ill... * Get you trollied quicker I'm not saying I believe or do this though.
Re: AntibioticsI'm allergic to eurithromycene (god only knows if thats the spelling - probably not ) I was given it once for an abcess and ended up with a massive ulcerative colitus flare up because of it ..
I hope you feel better soon Helen

Albert Einstein Re: AntibioticsThat's what I have been given Tina. I think, as it is now coated with a gastric protection thingy, that tummy problems may have been common in the past.
I did ask if I could drink and they said yes, but to be honest, not really feeling like drinking much anyway! Helen xx

Re: Antibiotics
You dont sound too good at all Helen, are you running a temperature? maybe you should give the med centre a ring just to be sure its still 'only' the abcess.. "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"
