HEALTHY PAGE !!!!

Post by Richard »

As it sounds like we're all falling apart, me included, let's have a positive thread about how good your fitness, health or wellbeing is at present !

Don't believe in the 'kiss of death' scenario, that's for softies !

Maybe how we've fought and won a recent illness or Virus etc.

Fair enough, there won't be many replies !!!!! But sobeit !

It was because I pronated badly when I walked, so EVENTUALLY I have some NHS shoe inserts and physio theraphy.
Now instead of living in wellies I now live in walking boots [support for the ankle] and the inserts.
Got so bad about September I had to go upstairs on my hands and knees !!!

No, not off topic, just what we want to hear - it helps others.

Not me, but my mum.
She has had a wonky knee for as long as I can remeber - old hockey injury. Over the past year or so it deteriorated extremely rapidly - so much that she went from a bit wonky to walking with a stick for no more than 20 minutes in the space of 6 months last year. She had it replace don 1st December.
I am very happy and proud to report that she is coming along really well. She has been off her crutches completely for over a week and is working hard on correcting her posture and gait.
I am very proud of my mum. She has worked really hard this past couple of months to recover and has come on in leaps and bounds (not quite literally but we'll see!!)

Just the thread made me feel better! )t'

Being posative is a big part of well being! I'm sure by the time we hit spring everyone will be feeling better!

By just getting out into the garden today with the chooks gave me a real good boost! It also takes your mind off things! If i am sat down feeling a bit blue i get up and do something and it really does work!

Bathroom had a good clean yesterday, and sunday lunch is on the go, took it out on the yorkshire puddings )t'

I am fit and well, thank goodness. March 2008 - rushed into hospital (999) in the middle of the night, horrendous abdomen pain. Did some tests, found large ovarian cyst (10cm). OMG have I got cancer !!! July - they went in and took the whole lot out, all my bits and pieces, no cancer :-D

I feel blooming great now. )c(

I tok a big step yesterday and went to the gym. It was hard because all my wobbly bits were there for everyone to see and some of my regulars were there (for those who dont know I work in a leisure centre and use the gym in it)
BUT
I did 45 minutes, I am not in agony as a result and when I told the fitness instructor what I'd done she said I did good and to keep it up. So am planning to go again tomorrow after work.

Although I walk the dog most days for an hour my 'wobbly bits' are not a joke so I did a keep fit (mainly stretching) video this morning and will try and keep it up.
