Nappy Cakes.............So excited

Post by Gwenoakes »

I have just got three of my two tier nappy cakes on a companies website who are in our local town selling baby items.

If you go to google, put in Precious Little Ones, go to Xmas, then Gift sets they are on page 3. If this takes off it means from a hobby/pastime I will be making money. YAY! An added bonus is, I just love to make them too, not bad eh?

Aww thanks guys, that is indeed praise from a 'mere bloke' TS. LOL

Have been negotiating for a while now with this particular shop and really never thought it would come together, but it has and I am so pleased because I really, really enjoy doing them too which is nice. Also I can answer the phone for our other work at the same time, so great!

It all started the other year when our village held an Xmas fair and they asked me if I would do something for their raffle and these sprang to mind and were a great success.

I forgot that BC makes/made them too.

These are brilliant, well done. I wish I could get the break to offload some of my makes. Everyone that sees them loves them but its hard work getting them out there and sold. Good job I enjoy making 'things' )t'

It will be great for you to make money from something you love doing. Good luck.

Meg, have you tried 'touting' your wares, so to speak? I mean ringing companies up and asking if you can go in to show them what you do.

This all came about by accident really. We pick cardboard up from this particular retailer for the cross cut bedding and I just got talking to the manager of the warehouse one day........was waiting for lorry to unload before I could load up and I just happened to ask him if they sold nappy cakes. He made a few rude remarks, which kinda lit my flame, so I took some in to show him the next time I was there and he was impressed and suggested I left them for his bosses to see. They liked, had a talk with me and hey presto. It did take rather longer than the above may suggest though and tbh at one point I thought it would never come together. It may still fall flat on its face too, but it has given me the push I needed, so I will be contacting other retailers now and see just how far I can get.

Mallard if your only a few minutes away, you must have moved recently, or I cant tell time anymore! +confused+
