A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy)A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy)My cousin and myself have planned a fishing trip for next weekend out on Inchkeith Island. It's turned out to be a yearly thing. So heres a few pics from last year. The boys on the boat have to check the lights in the lighthouse on a regular basis. We get some fishing done on the way to the Island.
Granton harbour waiting on the boat. You can see the Island in the background. Getting closer to the Island, which has a lot of history,it was a prison for ww2 and a stop over for Mary Queen of Scots. We anchored up for a spot of fishing. Then onto the Island Itself. At the top of the Island there is a fully working lighthouse. Inside the lighthouse. Mary Queen of Scots crest I've got loads more pics of the day but I won't bore you all with them A visitor came to have a look at us. Heading back home and the end of day tally. Looking forward to next weekend, and hope to fill the freezer. Thanks for reading. There are no Crocodiles in Dundee.
Re: A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy)Nice to see you've had the sense to gut them before freezing.
No problem can withstand the power of continuous thought.
Re: A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy)Thats one for Eck and I to think about , he is a Mary Queen of Scots fan so would enjoy the island , probably next year though as next time he has holidays is Oct and the weather may be a bit yuk ( more yuk). Are you on the East of Scotland Lavyheed ? The dogs pic is great , are they yours ?
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Re: A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy) Looks like a great day out , as for the Mackerel you cant beat them fresh straight on the bbq!

I stay up North but the Island is on the east coast of Scotland, not too far from Edinburgh. Both dogs are both mine. The brindle is nearly 2 and the fawn bitch is 10 months old. She's still learning. There are no Crocodiles in Dundee.

Got to agree with you there about the mackerel. We just cook them on the boat done in a bucket of sea water. There are no Crocodiles in Dundee.
Re: A trip to an Island and a days fishing (pic heavy)Great pics ....Mackerel mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
