Crafty thing

Post by Stef »

I started looking at making stuff in February last year. I spent the rest of the year thinking about making, blogging about making, posting about making but not actually making!

So yesterday I decided to end the year on a high and made this

Image

I blogged about it (another thing I need to do more of) but basically it started with work's Secret Santa and some cookie cutters....

It took about 30 minutes to make, cost about 14p (including its share of the kit needed but not my time) and I suppose it could sell for £1.50 - not a good return for the time, so I shan't be giving up the day job :-D

I may make something else today...

Very nice - well done. I'm afraid the time that go into these things never seem to equate to their value. :?

I did make another, a bit more fiddly - it took a couple of Judge Judys to make :?

I think I now need to make some friends so I can give them presents!

I particularly like the 2nd one Stef. I have looked at your blogspot, another site I knew nothing about. Is how you make them similar to felting? I did look at your 'how I made' but couldn't quite make out what material is used.
Good on you for starting this year with your good intention from last year. )t'

Thanks June.

The material is called roving, wispy wool!

It is needle felting as opposed to wet felting. You get a special stabby needle and stab the wool into shape!

Now all I have to do is stick to the other resolutions and move more and eat less! :?

Thank you.

I did see Kirsty's needle felting, and I felt like a tagalong :?

But I don't think I'll be making anything like her little bird.

I really did buy it to mend holes and to decorate the other stuff I am supposed to be crafting. But I may have sidetracked myself into accessories, and possibly pictures, for a while!

Still, I have succesfully put off making friends with the sewing machine :-D

Love the hair slide :) You could definately sell them, I have 2 little ladies who love things like that!

I know what you mean about "the money thing" - it's the same with my jewellery.
I'm happy so long as it brings enough to buy me the materials/equipment needed -more a self-funding hobby than anything.
Waiting to welcome Sunny Clucker to Northern Ireland!
