Christmas Market

Post by bluebell »

My friend and I attended our village Craft Fair in the summer and had such a great time, we were going to put our names down for the Christmas Market, but Angela my friend had a couple of operations a short time ago and didn't think she would be well enough to attend.

The Christmas Market is this Saturday and until yesterday we didn't have our names down for a stall - we have now! Rang organiser yesterday, thinking they would be packed, they can make room for us. :?

Most of yesterday afternoon and last night were spent organising stock and catching up on all those things I was going to make and never got round to.

Going to crack on tonight to finish some things off and then tomorrow night have a dress rehearsal at putting together our stall to be eye catching.

No pressure! )grin2(

Downside is it is an outdoor market - so thermals at the ready. =win=

Top tip - take something to stand on - even if it's just a piece of cardboard, you'd be surprised how much warmer it keeps your feet.

Hi folks - good idea about the cardboard, thanks for that.

We run a craft group so basically the type of things we will be taking will be things we have hand crafted. We're basically taking things with us that will make nice stocking fillers. I've hand printed cards, gift tags and some gift wrap, made some satin and antique bookmarks, made some repurposed vintage ear-rings, Angela has made some silk necklaces, we've made corsages, hair slides and embellishments, all sorts of pin cushions, Angela has some flower bouquets she has made using ladies cotton socks (look stunning).

We both have a keen interest in all things antique/vintage (from Victorian through to 1950's) so have a hoard of stash we are trying to use in making things.

I was hoping to silk back and paint some of my vintage mirrors I have, but haven't got round to it, they look stunning when they are finished.

Thank you, will pack my camera. Looking forward to it, but a bit nervous all the same, hoping that tonight when I get everything together it all looks OK.
