I dont hold the wool properly, I kind of wind it round the hook like knitting but it works for me I would like to see a photo please Helen xx

I think I started doing crochet when I was about 19 and crocheted my future husband a bright green scarf. I know when I was knitting a lot of baby clothes they called for some crochet edging on them, so was useful to know how to do it. I still have the same little book I bought back in the 70's with some really old fashioned pictures in it

There is no right way or wrong way, whatever way suits you is the way to go
Re: Learning to crochetWatching me finish my first square, OH said he was sure it wouldn't always take me so long, as he has seen other OLD LADIES doing it very quickly and not even looking at their work
So different from the flattery I used to get. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
