There are Green Men (pagan fertility symbols) peering out on the ceiling (if that's what you call stone arches over your head) of the porch in Nantwich church.

He's a very popular figure in church decoration - green men (and many variations on the theme) have been appearing in church architecture since at least the 11th century.

If you look closely in many of the larger cathedrals, such as Lincoln, you see all sorts of creatures and figures decorating corbels and arches, and even smaller local churches and chapels often have a green man carved or painted into a stained glass window somewhere...
