Been on my electric Bike Wow

Post by mellonia »

Hi

I have been on my bike, its brilliant only up and down the street, its so fast I must bike ordinarily like a slow coach, tried it on the pedal assist function really wizzed along, tried it with the throttle and no peddaling fantastic, just sat there lazy wot not aren't I. Will pump up the tyres more and see what its like with no battery on, tried it initially and my thoughts are its heavy going, but will pump tyres up so might be a bit easier, would like to do first mile no battery power, then just sit there, with battery on.

I am a bit scared as seems very fast, so will be using with caution.

I hope Richard doesn't mind me saying where I got it from so you can look at the picture, its from - Juicy Bikes in the uk its the classic in cream, really nice looking traditional bike. The man Bob has been very helpful. I have been emailing him and also rang him. Going to take it to the police station to get stamped or whatever they do.

Father Christmas has come early to me WWWEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Just had a look - it looks fab! I think it's a great idea and if I was less wobbly ona bike would definitely go for it!

Helen,
As your fear of being wobbly on a bike is so great you could try one of these, they do them with three wheels as well.

My goodness, I am glad you live a long way from me. Otherwise I might have to drive on the pavement, the first time you venture out of the street. )grin2(
It sounds brilliant and very green. I am sure it will be all you want.
Happy cycling

Yes Dom, I could, but then my family would get wobbly and disown me!! I look eccentric enough at the best of times!

Well went to the shops on it a good 15minute cycle, used pedal assist as I just can't bike without the electric on, its such hard going. On the way back I turned the battery off by mistake and was nearly crying it was such hard going. Anyway got off and started to walk, and thought i would try one more time to see if any power, and realised had turned the key to off instead of power, it doesn't seem as fast as this morning so felt more comfortable, its good I like it and 5 miles to work I will need it, will pedal assist i think all the way. Don't want to get to work all sweaty. YOu can take battery out so will try with that.

do a little bit of cycling every day, going a bit further each time - as well as the extra weight of the battery, you are just not used to cycling and need to build some muscle up. When I bought my pedal bike, I could barely manage a half mile and didn't realise the wind against me could make all the difference. Within a fortnight I was able to cycle the 8 miles to work (I couldn't do it now  )

Really pleased you like the bike Mel!
I happen to think that electric bikes can make a significant contribution to reducing a carbon footprint, help improve fitness and save money!

Since starting Juicy Bikes in early 2009, (with some trepedation as we have had to invest a considerable amount in what is a limited market in the UK) we've had really positive and inspiring feedback. It's great to get some more and I thank you for taking the trouble to share with others on this forum.
The Juicy Bike website is: http://www.juicybike.co.uk
Our bikes are available to try at our shop Eco Republic in Buxton.
Thanks again Mel!
