Dog Poo Wormery??!!!
Dog Poo Wormery??!!!We've just had our local newsletter and there was an advert for a 'DOG POO WORMERY'!
Has anyone come across one of these before? Apparently you can use the end result to feed your garden. Anyone any idea how quickly the worms deal with the waste? I've 2 dogs, 1 normal waste producer, the other puts what a horse can produce to shame! It seems a great idea(though I would make my own wormery),but I would be reluctant to use it on food crops... Never heard of it, it sounds yukki.
Did it have any blurb with it ?. I have never seen worms deal with dog poop before. Wendy http://www.busheyk9.co.uk

Hi Wendy,
They have a website... http://www.aprice.earth-essentials.co.uk/products.htm I think the product is way overpriced. I know when I put horse manure in the compost bin, the worms love it. OMG that is expensive.
I would rather put it down the sewer like I do now, I have three manholes in my garden, than pay that. I can make a wormery with soil and veggies peelings. The worms eat the horse because it is from a vegetarian animal, I would think. I had one of those doggie toilets when they first came out. Put the 'stuff' in there and some biological stuff then every couple of weeks hosed it out. Never worked and cost the earth as well. Perhaps it was because I owned Akita's [8] and when they go you treat it as a roundabout Wendy http://www.busheyk9.co.uk

Well, I've decided to give it a go. As my dogs have to go in the garden now, as I'm at college 3 days so walking has been cut a bit, i thought I'd try it. My section of the campus is shared by the animal care students, and I'm hoping they may be able to point me in the right direction to have the end result analysed for harmful content to humans. Regardless of the outcome, I wouldnt use the compost on crops.
Ooooh let us know how it goes. If you give the wworms to the hens, will you still want to eat the eggs.
