Water powered alarm clock
Water powered alarm clockI've been interested in buying a clock which is powered by water for a little while and have managed to track an alarm one down this morning on Amazon for just under £7 including postage. Has anyone any experience of using these - do they stay accurate?
Re: Water powered alarm clockI was intrigued by this, so goggled to find out how it works.
I found this - "An inflow water clock follows the same basic principle, only the measurements are inside a second container, into which the first one drips. Either way, the measurement vessel is often bowel-shaped to ensure that it fills up gradually" Bowel-shaped - really??? I think the sort you have ordered uses lemon juice in water with metal plates to form a battery, so it is essentially an electric clock. No reason why it shouldn't be accurate. Let us know how you find it.
Re: Water powered alarm clockQuite impressed with the clock - was fiddley to set the time but seems to be keeping time so far, will try the alarm once I get the hang of setting it.
