Hi,
I once read a book called 'Seventy Summers' a story of a dairy farmer through the 40's and 50's and on to his 70th birthday,he recalled many changes in his life and that of his livelihood, his family and his attitudes to life.In conclusion,he said that all he wanted from life was,a further Seventy Summers!
It is of no use whatsoever if we dream and do not try to turn those dreams into reality,IMHO.
The first rule of Permaculture is,'The problem is the solution' so if we apply our mind to the problem we will come up with the solution!
In other words,DO IT!

you may get away with wigwam type thing like those people in south wales. They look quite solid and cosy inside, plus they are classed as temporary buildings as they can be moved, however they dont have plumbing for the loo or a shower. I think that you do need planning permission for a static though.

There is a small organisation called "The Land is Ours", they have a lot of information and ideas about getting planning permission and all sorts of land use bits and bobs.
