I'd love to be fridge-free - horrible buzzy lecky-guzzler that it is! but no, we couldn't manage without one.

I have an eco-fridge (ie shed in the garden) that we use a lot in winter. It holds pressure barrels with homebrew cider, along with bottles of stuff bought in bulk. Also root veg lasts a lot longer out there than it does in the kitchen cupboard. I have a sack of spuds that we've been using since Oct that are only just going soft & eyey now.
