I bought a mooncup today. (f+
It is much more comfortable than I expected. It was a bit of a faff to use first time, but I think I juts need to practice. I keep forgetting its there so that must be a good sign. It is being backed up by my washable fairy hammocks though unitl I am more confident!!

Hurrah, I feel the same way as you. I've had mine for four months and haven't used anything else at all in that time. I thought the first month I would be really cautious and use "back-ups" but there was no need and I even went swimming. Total convert and I want to tell everyone I know!

What has surprised me is that it's all so much less painful now too. I have no idea why that should be (some sort of counter-pressure going on???) but it certainly seems to be the way it is and it's fantastic!

Glad you're loving yours. (f+ (f+ (f+

I'd have a go yourself and then see what you think re the 12 yr old, I guess they differ in what they're prepared to deal with??

But I do think the fact there's nothing to see and you can probably get through a whole school day without needing to change anything would be a big plus for a young un. Certainly I'm optimistic about it for my wee girl when the time comes (she's only 7 at present!!).

Babycakes - perhaps all those unused towels and tampons could be forwarded to Meanqueen to be turned into attractive handbags???

Very funny! If slightly disturbing

Can you believe, I was actually getting impatient for that time to come round again?! I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon :?

I had also been thinking about introducing the idea to 'girls', I'm pretty sure it wasn't included in the 'talk' they had at school, I will have to ask my 10 year old. I can imagine it would be percieved as very way-out and alternative which might be instantly rejeted.

I've joined the mooncup revolution now too. A bit awkward to start with and still need back up (a river in full flood!), but def a lot less messy, even at night. I would certainly recommend them.

Month 2 update:

The good - I really realised how much rubbish I would normally create
- No further expense
- I agree with ChooksAway, I didn't take any pain killers
- Got through a couple of days at work with no problems at all

The bad - I was let down one night but I think this is due to slight over confidence - but I would have expected to have had problems with anything that night. I think because I felt comfortable I ddin't expect to be so heavy, I took my eye off the ball :? .

The ugly - ^b: ever the mad scientist, I'm thinking of keeping a record of volumes, thanks to the little gague up the side  )t'

Funnily enough, I remember being told at school you only lose an eggcup of blood max per month.
Must be an ostrich eggcup!!
