Have home for 2 or 3 chooks...

Post by nettles »

We have always had ex-batts but am down to 3 and really need a couple of 'normal' chickens to join my little bunch. After much soul searching I have reached the conclusion that I want a healthy mix of both.

I feel traitorous saying it but sometimes ex-batts don't survive very long and it rips my heart out every time we lose one or it has to be PTS.

This would give us a bit of 'continuity' so if you are near the Bristol area and want a home for 2 or 3 where they would be positively spoilt please let me know. We have a 100ft garden, secure for them to free range in, I work from home, short shifts so they get lots of attention. A huge coop....(ok a 5ft x 4ft metal insulated shed with home-made nest boxes and perches)

I look forward to hearing from you,
xx

Hello Netty
I need to rehome my 2 sweet girls,I did put a post on this site.I have had 2 offers with homes for them but I really want the best for them.I dont want them to be confined to a small area.They have a fairly large half covered run now and have the freedom of the garden most days. I feel sure they would be more than happy with you. I would be pleased to deliver them to you.
How can I contact you,is it ok to give my phone number on this site?

Joy, don't worry. We will look after them properly and give you regular updates etc should you decide to trust us to care for them for you.
Our girls also have auto pop hole so they can come out when light, and shout at me outside my window if I do something terrible like try to have a lie in once a week!

Seahorse, so sorry about Colonel, he was my fav pinup boy! {cry}
still have his pic on my pc too.

Bye for now,
Netty

Lovely to meet you and Lew.

Thankyou so much! They are beautiful girlies and we will take really good care of them for you.

Info for forum readers: Bert and Amber (our new girls) had a couple of spats with our reprobate ex-batts and held their own just fine, a few mealie worms calmed them down and after lots of vocal objections they all settled in the coop nicely. Sure there will be more spats tomorrow but I am off work to referee. I think they will all be great in afew days when they settle.

I was so concerned about having to part with these 2 chooks.
I certainly need not have worried about their new home,
once they had wandered through this chicken havan they
had no intentions of returning to Somerset thankyou!

Thank you Netty and family,you are just lovely people! {hug}
I have no regrets now. xx

Bless your heart! And thankyou, cos I don't think I could let them leave now! They are so sweet and dignified! Our ex-batts are more like inmates. lol After the BIG SHOUT OUT... at 7.30am we had the Big Stand Off... and this afternoon they mingled, and all went to bed together. They will be fine. They all get their new nesting boxes tomorrow too, an adapted pine bookcase with back and sides, with front rails I put in...hope they like them, or I will have to sack myself as chief designer and builder!
Pics in post on CD as too big to send any other way. Also a couple of pics of our garden last summer, so you can see all the shrubs etc, and how pretty it is for them.

eerrr, your girls don't look so pristine today, they have huge clods of mud hanging off their feet, but, hey they had fun! Actually they are a bit muddy all over....ah welll, they are happy. I promise to be an ace step-mum xxx

Even the neighbours were cooing over them...how sweet is that?

Thankyou xxxxxxx {hug&kiss}
