Hens....Penrith, Cumbria

Just had this mail, anyone interested get on to me and I will pass on.

"If anyone wants hens and can get to Penrith (Cumbria) by Tuesday
afternoon there are some available. Myself and a couple of other small
rescue groups have managed to save around 900 - 1000 but the farmer is
willing to let more go for £1 each. PM me for their number."

Hello Wendy, Happy new year to you and yours , whether they wear skin fur or feathers . Will you send me the details please, I have a friend in Whitehaven area who may be interested as she hasn't been able to find anywhere locally rehoming - may be a bit soon for her but no harm in passing it on. thanks Wendy, I have read and noted the number. My friend has a smallholding which she bought when she had horses but those are over rainbow bridge and the 6 pet sheep had to be pts just before Christmas because of some illness. She has sold her fields now to a local farmer who used to rent them in the summer anyway but still has all the outbuildings and large garden grounds and 1/2 acre field to the side so perfect for some girls. Just not sure that she is quite prepared with housing yet but at least if she has a contact number she may be able to work something out. Thanks again

Hi Kathryn,
I will speak to my friend at the week end and see how things are progressing with her preparations. She is a bit low at the moment as she lost her elderley aunt at the start of December, the old lady had lived with her until a couple of months before her death so they were fairly close. As I said on the thread she had to pts her pet sheep over the Christmas period and she is really missing having outdoor creatures. She really wants some hens but hasn't got the fences done yet, she will be keeping the chooks in an old barn that had been converted to stables but knowing her she wants everything right before she commits to any ex batts. I will give your details to her if she is ready now and will let you know via pm or fb if she is going to contact you. Thanks for the offer {hug}
