Hens needing a home in Suffolk/Norfolk

Post by suffolkhens »

I am going into Rehab at the beginning of October and have found out today that I will be losing my home, regrettably I need to rehome my flock.

They have all been free ranging and I would like them to continue to live this way.

I have

4 x ex batts who are in great condition and still lay daily
2 x pure bred Light Sussex who are 2 years old
2 x what I believe to be Cuckoo Marans
1 x Light Sussex bantam
1 x Cross Light Sussex cockerel

I also have a small ark, a ramshackle shed and a home made house that could do with some finishing off. I also have feeders, etc. All also free with the chooks.

Edit - I also have a large roll of chicken wire and approx 15 stakes and enough staples to make a large enclosure

Free to a good home, ideally all together or will split if I have to.

A very sad day.

I hope you find somewhere for the hens and somewhere for yourself.
All the best.

Hi,

Yes, you take care.

I'm sure someone will come along for you. I know all the Mods and myself will keep a steady eye on this thread and help in any way we can.

Cheers, Richard

Great news, my neighbour who is fostering Phoebe my dog has a sister who keeps ducks, geese and chooks and has agreed to take the entire flock.

They'll still be free ranging and I know that they are going to a great home and will remain "Suffolk-hens".

I'm going in on 1st October and will be out in the new year.

At the moment the plan is to try houseboat living again - I had a dutch barge in 2000 - but this time it'll be a narrow boat in Herts to be near my daughters.

Thank you all for your kind words and I look forward to logging on again in 2009!

Hi suffolkhens

I'm so glad you have found loving homes for your animals :-D
Now you can concentrate on you. I wish you all the best for the future. A houseboat sounds idylic, we'll all be visiting for holidays! :-D :-D
