I am looking for 4 rescue battery hens and expect their accommodation to be ready by 29th June. I live at Corton, Lowestoft and will happily collect them from say a 60 mile radius. If you can let me know where and how to collect them I will be very grateful. I'm sorry I can't take more but I don't want to crowd them. Joy McLeod.

Hi Jay, welcome to the forum. It's you that needs to do the contacting, we are just a forum that has hen rescue coordinators in our midst, we can't arrange any hens for you. If you contact any of the above mentiond rescue charities, they will tell you when the next rescue is going to take place.

Has it been mentioned that we did it! Jo, Emma & the crew got every one of the hens out of that farm! I'm sure an exact total will be revealed soon but I don't know if Jo or Emma have got back on their computers yet or whether they are "chilling" for a few days.

Both myself and one of my daughters were helping at the yard and my other half was bringing hens back to Lincolnshire.

What started off as a seemingly impossible task became possible due to the lovely kind people wishing to rehome these girls. We ended up with so many offers of homes that I personally had to defer people wanting around 100 hens for the next rescue, as we thought we may run out of hens in Norwich (as we have to make allowances for any with peritonitis or off their legs that have to stay a little longer until recovered)

As Jo now has the fantastic "henclosures" we were much better organised for this rescue and the days seemed to flow very well.

Thanks to everyone who makes it all worthwhile. The lovely people who we meet and know the hens will have a great life with, and if for any reason in the future, they can always return their hens should the need arise.
