I'm no fan of Mel Gibson and do consider Tom Hardy one of the UK's best actors - but he isn't Max as I would have cast it.
However, the film's as good as they get even if you can't understand a word Hardy utters (that's deliberate though why I wouldn't like to guess). The woman next to me in the cinema sure liked the way Hardy looked too. What with her moaning and simpering and my BDSM-loving mate Dave on the other side gasping, I was feeling a little like us normal folks were the odd ones out  @Sheldonatsov
