If you haven't already watched any of the episodes, I can highly recommend the Earth series that are just as stunning as any of the David Attenborough Planet Earth (and other) series.
I am familiar with much of the geological processes of the early Earth (Snowball Earth, Siberian Traps, Pangaea, Plate Tectonics and so on) and the various extinction level events in the past but still found it to be an enjoyable documentary series. Chris Packham is renowned for his views on climate change so it is not unexpected that the series focuses on the same processes that could affect the future, yet the series is more about the violent historical events of the past and how life evolves. I found it really interesting.
