Orfy, its a no brainer if you are confident and have the gear order the parts online and fit them yourself )t'
I always do my own brakes, although I am an ex mechanic.
Just goes to show how much profit the most expensive place are making, trade prices will be slightly less than what you can get the parts of the net. the parts So even if they get at the same price as the online supplier they are getting £146 for an hours work.

not just the parts, you will need all the tools too. If the pads and discs go on with out a fight then all well and good.
The thing is what we tend to find is that most people who by the parts, then have to come in for the bleeding kits, flaring spanner, occasionally they mess up the brake pipe so need that too along with the bleeding nipple (yes that always really makes me giggle) so if you dont know what you are doing I would look for someone who will do a forigner. We get the parts in and then a mechanic from a garage will come in on the weekend and do the repairs for us. They get a bit of cash and we get the job done properly with out all the cussing and swearing!

Changing disks and pads shouldn't require breaking the fluid circuit unless a caliper or piston is damaged.
Generaly speaking a few basic tools will do the job, from memory once the wheel is off,
14mm spanner to gain access to the pads, although on some fords that will be a 7mm allen key. next is either 15, 17, or 19mm spanner to remove the caliper carrier.
Some disks are held on with a circlip and some with a single posi drive screw.
Most basic tool kits will carry those tools.
However, if you don't know what your doing DONT DO IT YOURSELF. )t'

Job done.

I picked up some pads yesterday for £14 (Could of got a couple of £ cheaper but I was passing a local place)
It didn't need disks so it was an easy job, under 30 minutes.
Tools required

Trolley Jack
Axle stand
Wheel chocks
Wheel brace
Pliers
Pin Punch
Hammer
Wire brush
Cup of coffee. :)

Very easy but should only be undertaken by a competent and experience person.

you just have to watch the quality on the pattern parts, they may be cheaper but you may be replacing them in half the time )dwn:
